North West Recording Studios - Opportunity

An opportunity exists to become a business partner/mentor/non-Exec to an established sound engineer who has a highly regarded well established name and reputation in the Music industry. The individual’s reputation and contacts are global and the studios have worked with some high profile bands.

The business has historically traded as a Ltd Co but this became dormant in Nov 2010 following a disagreement between the two 50% shareholders as to what business model they should work to.

The engineer and 50% owner now wants to create a Newco with a new partner and is seeking an investment of around £140k. The investment would be used to acquire the freehold of the studios from the other 50% shareholder’s Pension Fund. So the investor would have the benefit of acquiring a property as well as a shareholding. The property is currently on the market for £160k.

The engineer does have a full order book through to August and whilst he is undoubtedly a great technician and well connected, he is not a business man so does look for someone who can provide an element of hands on business acumen, strategy and guidance.
